MARCH 4, 15:30, YUGRA CLASSIC CONCERT AND THEATRE CENTRE, KHANTY-MANSIYSK
BUSINESS SESSIONS
Russia’s cultural and natural diversity lends itself to decentralization of the national film industry, with more than 40 regional programs in place to support film production. When state funding is provided, priority is given to films about the region itself: its history, culture, people and achievements, natural features, and landmarks.
Can such a film appeal to audiences outside the region? What is its impact on the region’s film industry? Does it make the region more attractive to tourists? How does it contribute to making the region recognizable? What do ethnic films from different countries have in common? How does the global cultural diversity trend affect creative industries development?
