On February 1, 2024, applications will be accepted for the traditional microfilm competition, which takes place as part of the International Festival of Cinematic Debuts “Spirit of Fire”. This time, the organizers of the competition chose a theme in tune with the Year of the Family - "Family values"
Anyone can take part, both individually and in a team; in addition, there is a separate Children's nomination. To do this, you need to fill out an application in the “Microfilm Competition” section before March 4, 2024. Works in MP4 and MOV format, not exceeding three minutes, and also corresponding to the theme of the competition “Family Values” are accepted for participation. The application can be submitted in Russian, and in English.
From March 4 to March 11, 2024, the selection committee will select up to 20 nominees in the main nomination and up to 20 nominees in the special children's nomination to participate in the next stage - popular Internet voting.
On March 15, 2024, competition works will be posted on the website of the Spirit of Fire film festival. The winner will be chosen by the audience themselves. Until March 20, 2024, there will be an open online voting for the best microfilm dedicated to families. The expert council will also choose its favorite.
The winners of the microfilm competition will traditionally be awarded at the opening ceremony of the XXII International Festival of Cinematic Debuts “Spirit of Fire” on March 23, 2024.
Since 2002, the festival has been held with the constant support of the government of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug and the Russian Ministry of Culture. The general partner of the Spirit of Fire since 2007 is Gazprom Neft. In addition to supporting the film festival, the company annually participates in the formation of the cultural program and presents a special award for the best Russian film in the category “For the Preservation of Cultural Traditions.” The communication partner of the festival is the Roscongress Foundation.
