The memorandum on cooperation in the field of cinema signed between Russia and Iran in 2022 was an important step towards strengthening and developing cinema ties between the countries. Iranian and Russian cinema received recognition at international festivals on multiple occasions, and this cooperation will allow filmmakers from both countries to exchange their experience in film production, provide opportunities for cooperation in education, development, popularization and promotion of films in the international arena, as well as for enhancement of cultural diversity. What kind of films are made and watched in Iran? What is the place of Iranian cinema in the world? What prospects does cooperation between Russia and Iran provide for the development of cinema?
