"Knots"

The film is about the relationship between an adult man, truck driver Bird, and 17-year-old Dina, who marries him. They are building the largest house in the village. According to Byrd, the house should become a symbol of his superiority over his fellow villagers. In the whirlwind of events, the couple do not notice that the house they built for so long has turned into an impregnable fortress.
It is the story of a mature man, a long-haul driver Berd and a 17-year-old girl Dina who gets married to him. Together they build the biggest house in the village. Berd's plan is to make it a symbol of his superiority over the other villagers. In the whirlwind of events the newlyweds overlook the circumstance that the house which they have been building for so long, has turned into an impregnable fortress.

Born in 1987 in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic. Graduated from the theater department of the North Caucasus State Institute of Arts and Kabardino-Balkarian State University (director's workshop of Alexander Sokurov). During his studies he made short films “Letter to Mother”, “Land of the Narts”, “Dream”, “Alive”, “Army”, “Antigone”. “Knots” is his debut feature film, shot in the Kabardian language.
OLEG KHAMOKOV
Born in 1987 in Kabardino-Balkaria, USSR. Graduated from the North Caucasian State Institute of Arts (department of theater) and the Kabardino-Balkarian State University (class of directing of Alexander Sokurov). While a student he made the shorts “Letter to Mother”, “The Land of Narts”, “Dream”, “Alive”, “Army”, “Antigone”. “Knots” is his debut feature shot in the Kabardinian language.
