Action takes place in tundra. Alyoshka, a young man of Nenets people, at the instance of his mother got married to a girl he didn’t love. But his heart is longing for his beloved. VLADIMIR TUMAYEV
Born in 1953 in Sevastopol. In 1983 he graduated from the directing department of VGIK (workshop of M. Khutsiev). He made his directorial debut in 1981 with the short film “Idiot” (together with L. Tumaeva). The premiere of his first full-length film “Moon Dogs” (1995, with L. Tumaeva) took place at the Berlin International Film Festival. Teaches directing at VGIK. Prize-winner of national and international film festivals, winner of the TEFI and Nika awards. “White Moss” was awarded the Audience Award at the Moscow International Film Festival. Among his films are also “Marlene” (2003, doc., with L. Tumaeva), “Demoted” (2009, TV), “Chinese Grandmother” (2010), “And the Snow is Spinning...” (2012), etc.
VLADIMIR TUMAEV
