The heroes of the film are four friends engaged in a semi-criminal business, although there are no serious crimes against them. But only until, through the fault of one of them ─ Dimona ─ the friends are drawn into a showdown, as a result of which an operative worker dies. The friends are put on the wanted list. To avoid arrest, the guys steal a Boomer and drive to a remote town. But the friends are unable to reach their destination safely: their nerves are on edge, and this constantly provokes them into conflicts - either with bandits or with truck drivers.

In 2003 it was a success at the box office (re-released in 2022), since 2004 it has been shown on television several times, received a sequel (Boomer-2, 2006), and became the basis of a computer game (2003). Awarded the Nika Prize, participated in the Window to Europe festival and the Moscow Film Festival.
Born in 1976 in Khabarovsk, graduated from VGIK. “Boomer” was followed by the famous films “Vysotsky. Thank you for being alive" (2011), "Motherland" (2015), the series "House Arrest" (2018) and other directorial works. As an actor, he played in the films of Ilya Khotinenko (“Odyssey 1989”, “Call me Genie!”).
