Director. Graduated from the directing department of VGIK (2014, workshop of V.I. Khotinenko, V.A. Fenchenko). His feature-length debut “Big Village Lights” won the prize for best script and a jury diploma at the Kinotavr 2016 ORFF. Ilya Uchitel’s second directorial work, Streltsov (2020), was awarded the Golden Eagle award for best editing, the film was nominated in nine more categories, including best film, and became one of the leaders at Russian box office. "The Flying Ship" is his third feature film.
