Angelina Nikonova

Director, screenwriter, producer. She graduated from the New York School of Fine Arts and was awarded prizes at the CineView experimental film festival in Florida and the St. Anne student film festival for her graduation short film “Dead End” (2001). In 2011, she made her debut as a feature film director with the micro-budget film “Portrait at Twilight,” which had its international premiere at the Venice Film Festival. The film was also included in the program of the world's leading screenings, won about two dozen awards, including the Grand Prix of festivals in Reykjavik, Cottbus and Thessaloniki, the prize for cinematography of the ORKF Kinotavr-2011, etc. Angelina Nikonova’s second film “Welcome Home” (2013) participated in the programs of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, ORKF Kinotavr, Russian Film Festival in Honfleur, etc. She also filmed TV series and advertisements, opened an online film school 2morrow Filmschool (2016). In 2020, her third feature-length directorial work, “Has Anyone Seen My Girl?” was released. She staged D. Shostakovich’s opera “Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk” at the Hamburg State Opera House, the premiere took place in 2023.
