BIRD BOY
August, a recently orphaned city kid, is dumped on a remote farm in South Africa to be cared for by distant relatives. Having been «handed off» to a half-dozen prior foster parents, August is guarded and withdrawn. Discovering a large, abandoned egg gives the troubled boy a newfound sense of purpose. The hatched egg soon grows into Kobus, a towering, 350-pound ostrich with a big heart and small brain. Boy and bird become best friends. When ostrich is taken away, August risks everything to get him back.
