Born in 1969 in Moscow. In 1994 graduated from the department of journalism at MGU and in 1999 from the Higher Courses for Scriptwriters and Film Directors (class of M.Khutsiev). Worked as second unit director in the crews of Karen Shakhnazarov and Alexander Proshkin, was the director of several programs on TV channels RTR and REN TV. In 2002 he debuted as a film director with "Spartak and Kalashnikov", which won the national film award Golden Eagle, a prize at the Kinotavr Film Festival and many other awards at national and international festivals. His second work "Moth Games" (2003) was noted at Kinotavr and won awards at the Pacific Meridians and Stalker film festivals. In 2009 his film "Minnesota" won the main prize at the Amur Autumn IFF. "The Horde" (2011) brought him the second Golden Eagle and the Silver St. George award of the Moscow IFF. In 2015 his series "The Translator" was awarded the prize of the Association of Film and TV Producers for best directing, the movie "Orlean" won prizes at the Moscow IFF and the Nika film award. His filmography also includes "Soldier's Decameron" (2005), "Orange Juice" (2010), the series "Forensic Column" (2007-2008), "Doctor Richter", "Survived" (2021), "Derrick" (2025) and others.
