Director, screenwriter, production designer, composer, one of the most titled Hungarian filmmakers of the 21st century. Born in 1974. He began his career as an assistant director on television. Later he took up screenwriting, set design and sound engineering and began to shoot short, feature and documentary films. His first feature film "Forest" received the Wolfgang Staudte Award for Best Debut of the Forum program at the Berlinale-2003, became the best and received the critics' award at the Hungarian Film Week. Fliegauf's second film, "Dealer" (2004), which also premiered at the Berlin Forum, won the Berliner Zeitung Prize. The film also won at the Spirit of Fire festival and the Athens IFF, and won awards for directing in Mar del Plata, Wiesbaden, etc. With the film "Milky Way" (2007), Benedek Fliegauf won in Locarno, and "Just the Wind" (2012) brought him the Grand Prix of the Jury and two more awards in Berlin and an award in Istanbul.
