IGOR VOLOSHIN
Screenwriter, director, producer. Born in Sevastopol. In 1998 he graduated from the Yaroslavl Theater Institute, in 2000 – VGIK. His directorial debut, the documentary film "Mesivo" (2000), received a special prize at the Kinotavr Debut competition and many other awards. His next short documentary work, "Suka" (2001), was also awarded prizes at Kinotavr and international film festivals in Amsterdam and Oberhausen. The short fiction debut "Hunting Hares" (2004) also received awards from national and international film festivals. The premiere of his first feature film "Nirvana" (2008) took place at the Berlin IFF, for which the director was awarded the Kinotavr prize for best debut and many other awards. All his subsequent works, including "Ya" (2009), "Olimpius Inferno" (2010), "Bedouin" (2011), "Skoryy Moskva – Rossiya" (2014), "Podval" (2018) and others, received awards from major international film festivals, and the series "Olga" (2016–2023) became a cult and was awarded the TEFI and APKiT awards. His new film "The Wizard of Oz. The Road of Yellow Brick" became the leader of the Russian box office in 2025.
