Magdalena Ralcheva was born on July 15, 1968, in Stara Zagora, Bulgaria, film director, producer, founder of Nuance Film Production Company (1997), author of feature, short and documentary films, as well as commercials.

Ralcheva graduated from the National Academy of Theater and Film Arts named after Krastyo Sarafov in Sofia, with a master's degree in Film and Television Directing in the class of Professor Hristo Hristov.

The feature film "Something More About Love", filmed and produced by Ralcheva in 2011, was awarded by the Union of Bulgarian Filmmakers, and her 2017 film - "12A" - was a great success with audiences at the box office.

Having won the competition of the National Film Center of Bulgaria in 2019 for financial support for production, Magdalena Ralcheva filmed and produced the feature film "Svadba" - an adaptation of the eponymous story by the famous Bulgarian writer Nikolai Haitov. After a successful premiere in November 2024, the film "Svadba" was awarded a number of prizes at national and international film festivals and awards, including the Guild of Film Critics Award of the Bulgarian Feature Film Festival "Golden Rose" and the "Red Rose" award for best film at the International Film Festival in Jaipur, 2025.

Magdalena Ralcheva is the founder and artistic director of the Golden Linden International Film Festival of New European Cinema, which has been held annually in Stara Zagora since 2013. This festival, which has firmly entered the cultural calendar of Bulgaria, is a landmark event and contributes to the decentralization of cultural life and maintaining audience interest in European cinema in Bulgaria and throughout Europe. In 2023, for her special contribution to the development of the cultural life of Bulgaria, Magdalena Ralcheva was awarded the title of "Person of the Year of the City of Stara Zagora".

This honor was bestowed upon her in recognition of her tireless commitment to promoting and popularizing the art of cinema, as well as in gratitude for her outstanding efforts to preserve cultural values and develop the national culture of Bulgaria.
