SERGEY CHLIYANTS

Russian scriptwriter, producer and film director. Born in 1962 in Odessa. Producer of 39 feature films, some of which got various awards at Russian and international film festivals. Among the most famous: “Bimmer”, “Don’t Cry Mommy”, “Land of the Deaf”, “How I Ended This Summer”, “The Tuner”, “Alive”. Founder of the Pygmalion Production film company. Debuted as a director in 1993 with the film “In a Straight Line” based on the stories by Sergey Dovlatov, shot at the Odessa Film Studio and Lenfilm. His second directorial work “The Wind” (2025) won the main prize for the best Russian film Golden Taiga named after Sergey Solovyov at the IDFF “Spirit of Fire”, the Film of the Year Award from the Guild of Film Scholars and Film Critics of the Filmmakers’ Union of Russia, and the National Award of Film Scholars, Film Critics and Film Journalists White Elephant in five categories, including Best Film.
