Director, screenwriter. He worked in a DVD store in Chennai when he met employees of the Tamil film industry. Thus, he became an assistant director in two films by A. Sargunam. Then he began to shoot his own films. The world premiere of his feature debut "Pebbles" (2021) took place at the International Film Festival Rotterdam, where the film won the main prize of the Tiger Competition program. Later, the film won at the Spirit of Fire festival, the Golden Apricot IFF in Yerevan, and was awarded prizes at festivals in Singapore, Kerala, Cluj, etc., was officially nominated for an Oscar from India and was nominated for the Independent Spirit Award. P.S. Vinothraj's second film, "The Adamant Girl," participated in the Forum program of the 74th Berlin International Film Festival in 2024.
