Born in 1939 in Kyiv. He graduated from the Shchukin Theater School (course of V.K. Lvova). He was an actor at the Moscow Lenin Komsomol Theater, the Theater on Malaya Bronnaya, and the Israeli Gesher Theater. His film debut was a role in the film "Forty Minutes Before Dawn" (1963). He gained wide fame for his acting work in the television series "Investigation is Conducted by ZnaToKi" (1971–2003) and "D'Artagnan and the Three Musketeers" (1978), as well as in the film "The Diamond Arm" (1968). Honored Artist of the RSFSR, Cavalier of the Order of Friendship. He played roles in more than 80 films and series, including "City of Masters" (1965), "Mitya" (1967), "The Red Tent" (1969), "Commandant Lauterburg" (1969), "Vaudeville about Vaudeville" (1970), "The Pickwick Papers" (1972), "She Stoops to Conquer" (1974), "Retaliatory Measure" (1975), "Vesnukhin's Fantasies" (1976), "There, on Unknown Paths..."
