ZAKA ABDRAKHMANOVA
Director, screenwriter. Graduated from the philology department of Karaganda State University (2005) and from Marina Razbezhkina and Mikhail Ugarov’s School of Documentary Film and Theatre (2017). Her documentary “The Last Year” (2019) received a special mention from the jury at the Flahertiana IFF and the Kultura TV channel prize at the Message to Man IFF. She co-wrote the screenplay for the fiction series “My Mother’s Penguins” (2021). Her first feature film “Dad Croaked on Saturday” won the Nika Award and the prize of the Mayak Film Festival.
