Angelina Nikonova
Director, screenwriter, producer. Graduated from the New York School of Visual Arts, for her diploma short film "Dead End" (2001) she was awarded prizes at the CineView Experimental Film Festival in Florida and the St. Anna Student Film Festival. In 2011, she made her debut as a feature film director with the micro-budget film "Portrait in Twilight", which had its international premiere at the Venice Film Festival. The film also entered the program of leading world screenings, won about two dozen awards, including the Grand Prix of festivals in Reykjavik, Cottbus and Thessaloniki, the prize for cinematography at the Kinotavr-2011 Open Russian Film Festival, etc. Angelina Nikonova's second film "Welcome Home" (2013) participated in the programs of the Karlovy Vary IFF, the Kinotavr Open Russian Film Festival, the Russian Film Festival in Honfleur, etc. She also directed TV series and commercials, and opened the online film school 2morrow Filmschool (2016). In 2020, her third feature film directorial work "Who's Seen My Girl?" was released. She staged D. Shostakovich's opera "Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk District" at the Hamburg State Opera, which premiered in 2023.
